These seminars are presented by Dr. Thomas Brown, Medical Director of our Bariatric Surgery Program.. Dr. Brown has performed over 2,000 bariatric surgeries and is a fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Brown together with Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center is an ASMBS Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence. Come learn the facts about surgical options for permanent weight loss. Issues discussed include:

About the Lap Band

Gastric banding is a popular alternative to the gastric bypass and is a less invasive surgical option. The Lap-Band is adjustable and can be inflated with saline to tighten in order to promote weight loss.
